In the Holland loss, the team gave up 9 unearned runs in losing what was a 1-0 game in the 4th inning before some costly errors hurt the Steelers' chances. Offensively, the Steelers received good days from the Rodriguez brothers. Senior Alex (ECC commit) had 2 hits and 2 stolen bases while freshman Matt went 3 for 3 with a double and walk. Web gems were made by Alex, Matt, Tyler Kinsley and Matt Bender.

The Steelers rebounded with a wild win at home against JFK that required team effort and toughness. Their character came through when the team was down 4-2 with 2 outs in the 6th and no one on. Jovan Lopez slashed a double down the right field line to start the rally. Following an intentional walk to Alex and a balk, Matt Rodriguez tied the game with a 2-run single to right, where Alex hurdled the JFK catcher as he attempted the tag and touched home plate safely to tie the game in dramatic fashion. Lost in the chaos was the hustle of Matt, who reached 3rd on the play. He then scored 2 pitches later on a passed ball.

Also having big offensive days were Tyler Kinsley and Drew Kowalski, who had 2 hits apiece. Kowalski was the winning pitcher of record going to 1.2 innings and giving up 0 runs. Matt Rodriguez threw 5.1 strong innings giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 6 Bears.

The team is 2-1 overall, 1-1 in the league. Go Steelers!
