Community Service/Volunteering
All students who enter high school should be acquiring volunteer and community service hours separate from the hours required for the National Honor society. Doing community service and volunteer work is very important when trying to win scholarships and it can make a big difference helping students get accepted to the college of your choice. Service learning also helps students develop relationships with adults outside of school, may help students develop more awareness about career choices, and allows students a chance to help others that may be less fortunate than themselves. During your high school years it is every student’s responsibility to accumulate volunteer and service hours. Below is a list of volunteer opportunities and a completion form that should be filled out after every volunteer/ community service experience.
