Third grade students are making a splash in math as they dive into learning about liquid volume! Throughout this hands-on unit, students are exploring how we measure liquids using standard units like liters and milliliters.
With measuring cups and plenty of water, they are discovering what it truly means to measure and compare amounts. Students are building their understanding by estimating, measuring and recording liquid volumes. They’re asking questions like, “How many milliliters fill this container?” and “Which holds more?”
Through exploration and discussion, they are developing a strong sense of quantity and precision. Whether they’re pouring, measuring, or comparing, these third graders are gaining skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom!
